Currently I think 2 weeks from now for a start date would be nice. I'll be honest with you I personally could use a break from eu4 for at least 1 week.

So I fixed my computers file Explorer crashing, so if we want a snap mod disabling level 8 forts for next week I can get that done. If the concensus is that it's unneeded I will do other things.

Thoughts?

If we're going to have it be a rule that you can't use level 8 forts it has to be a mod to make them not be out of date. I'm not playing a game that only allows out of date forts.

Out of date lvl 6 forts are still high level. when they become obsolete they just get an effective fort level of 5 that is all.

At the end of the game effective fort levels go as follows
8,5,2,-1

Well, I have disabled the level 8 forts in the mod fully (any other changes?), though there is a legacy UI button that does nothing, I can't be bothered to do anything about that considering these forts wont be a problem next patch.

Keep the mod on hold for now since we won't get to level 8 fort tech this session. We can use the next week to test the mod a bit and make sure everything works fine.

Well I only changed 2 files so there should be no issues as of right now. AFAIK the only compatibility issue would be if someone owned a level 8 fort, that might crash the game.
